ﾏﾘﾘﾝは1926年6月1日ﾛｽｱﾝｾﾞﾙｽ､ｼﾞｪﾈﾗﾙ病院で産声をあげた、一時孤児院に預けられたり、不幸な人生をおくりながらも16歳で結婚、18歳の時に一ｶﾒﾗﾏﾝの目にとまりモデル業へ、1946年20歳に二十世紀フォックスと契約しスターへの道を切り開いた。
この年芸名「ﾏﾘﾘﾝ･ﾓﾝﾛｰ｣となる､このﾓﾝﾛｰ名由来は祖父母の姓を引用した。
数え切れないほどの恋と、幾度かの結婚を繰り返し、又多くのフアンを魅了したﾏﾘﾘﾝ･ﾓﾝﾛｰは今も不滅である。
